Peak Detection

Cascade’s peak detection begins by smoothing the chromatogram and enumerating the local maxinum points that can be peak tops. The range of a peak is determined by evaluating candidate peak tops in descending order of intensity, and evaluating whether each candidate peak top can constitute a peak and how far the endpoints of that peak extend according to peak detection parameters.
